  • Bernd Span leaves apoBank on mutual agreements 

The Supervisory Board of Deutsche Apotheker- und Ärztebank (apoBank) has made the following decisions regarding its personnel: Eckhard Lüdering (50) was appointed to the Board of Directors of apoBank where he will be responsible for the Risk and Banking Operations Board departments. In this function, he will also be in charge of the project to migrate the Bank’s IT systems, which he has helped to shape essentially from the start in key committees. Mr. Lüdering has been with apoBank since 1 January 2000 and has managed the Risk Board department under Dr. Siekmann since the end of last year. In his previous positions at the Bank, Mr. Lüdering contributed significantly to ensuring apoBank’s excellent position in the management and analysis of its customer loans with significant below-average default rates.

At the same time, the Supervisory Board instructed the Board of Directors to enable Mr. Ulrich Sommer (49), currently Divisional Director of the Professional Associations, Large Customers and Markets Board department, to be obtain a license to conduct business in accordance with Section 33 of the German Banking Act (KWG).

The Bank and Mr. Span have separated by mutual agreement. The Bank managed to fill the positions on the Board of Directors with a long-term perspective ahead of schedule, thus concluding Mr. Span’s shortly realized interim function earlier than anticipated. The Bank would like to thank Mr. Span for his active support during a time that was not easy for the Bank.
